Last year I signed up for a 10$ per year hosting plan at Bluefur, part of Manticore Media Group, some Canadian company.
I got my 1gb of internet and was very happy, not pleased with their ftp service quality, but still pleased with the overall deal.
A year had passed and my 10$/year deal has ended. It was time to move on.

Later I got a billing info mail, notifying me that they’d billed me for another month, which was very expensive, as it wasn’t part of the original deal.
I replied to the mail, asking to cancel my account and stop billing me. I received the following copy-paste message as a reply:

Our billing staff are not responsible for anything cancellation related.
All cancellations, refunds due to cancellations are all dealt with by our cancellation department which is only accessible through our helpdesk.

If you have any further billing questions please feel free to contact me.

A decent company would forward my request to the appropriate department whithin their organization.

At the time I didnt know that it was hopeless, so I went to their support site, submitted several termination tickets and submitted my request to every address and form I could find.
Got no answer.

Another month has passed, their billing team billed me again. I sent them another letter, less descriptive this time:

STOP BILLING ME!!!
Your support team won’t answer!
STOP BILLING ME!!!!!!

Got the same reply as above.

My credit card company is taking care of this now, “taking care” means that they’re waiting their standard period of time (~2 months) for the other company to answer, and after that (should happen any day now) they’ll advise me to cancel the credit card registered at Bluefur.

That’s how Bluefur’s internet billing fraud works! BEWARE!
